Major Scholarships

Arp Scholarship
the late Alfred and Helen Arp, a Scott County farm couple, have been instrumental in providing the future of many area youth. The endowment willed by Arps in the amount of $320,580 was a catalyst for the Foundation's growth as a provider of scholarships to North Scott graduates.

Heiler Scholarship As a lasting tribute to their father, the Melvin E. Heiler Scholarship was endowed by his children following his death in 1994. During Mr. Heiler's 23 years of administrative service in the North Scott School District, he was instrumental in the development of the current school system.

Stevens Scholarship
The Stevens Scholarship was established in 2001 with a $100,000 donation from Mickey and Karol McArthur. It was created to honor "Bear" Stevens, a former North Scott superintendent and personal friend of the McArthurs, who was instrumental in establishing the North Scott Educational Foundation.

Wilma Zabel Scholarship
Wilma Zabel, a life-long resident of our community, has been a wonderful advocate for the North Scott Educational Foundation, giving a living legacy of $30,000.

Other Scholarships
The Foundation Scholarship Fund also awards specific scholarships that are determined by the contributor.


Additional Grants

In addition, the NSEF provides funding for various school sponsored educational experiences for current North Scott students such as History Day and Future Problem Solvers.
